Live Well Lawrence County (LWLC) will host a special meeting for the Center for Disease Control’s (CDC) Evaluation Team from 3:30 pm- 4:30 pm at the Mitchell High School Cafeteria. The public is encouraged to attend to learn about expectations of the Healthy Community Champion (HCC) position and best practices from grantees around the nation. This will be an inspiring meeting and will hopefully create passion and knowledge for adopting more health-oriented endeavors in our community


Persimmon Idol Audtions
Date: Thursday, 9/21

Preliminary round auditions will take place on Thursday, September 21st from 5-8pm at the Mitchell High School Auditorium:
During the preliminary, each contestant will be allowed a small amount of time to perform their song in front of our judges. Auditions have a closed door policy; no friends or family members will be allowed into the audition room. Those contestants chosen to perform on the Main Street Stage will then be contacted by Wednesday, September 27, 2017.

BNL Homecoming Tailgate Party

WBIW and Superoldies WQRK 105.5, in partnership with Hillcrest Community Christian Church will host the BNL Homecoming Tailgate in the student parking lot at 5pm on September 22nd.
There will be free food, music, spirit tees, giveaways, and more
Join WBIW and WQRK before the BNL homecoming game for fresh grilled hamburgers, chips , soft drinks, water, fresh popped popcorn, and free spirit items such as noise makers, can cozies, spirit beads.

The Mitchell Football Boosters

The Mitchell Football Boosters is hosting a Pancake Breakfast and Silent Auction on Saturday, September 23rd from 7 am to 1030 am. We will have Chris Cakes Flapjack on site flipping pancakes as well as WBIW providing music! We have unlimited pancakes, sausage and drinks for $7.50 adult/$5.50 ages 3 to 11 and under 3 is FREE! We have fantastic items for the Silent Auction, bidding ends at 10 am. This is a fundraiser for Mitchell Football Boosters. The goal of the booster organization is to be able to help with safety and training equipment for players from youth to high school, awards, player and coaching needs.
