Papa Roach on Rockline (Encore)

We've heard it and now you're going to be able to hear it as well. "Metamorphosis" is the new, long awaited album by Northern California's Papa Roach and for once, long awaited is actually accurate as the album's release date was pushed back from August of 2008 to this March 24th, the day after their appearance on ROCKLINE.

The band has been performing a few of the new songs in concert, so you may have heard a couple of them live if you've seen them recently, but we promise to dig a lot deeper and give you a heaping, steaming, giant plate full of new songs for you to devour.

The album comes storming out of the gate with a sixty second intro titled "Days of War" which segues into a blistering challenge and incrimination called "Change Or Die". Chances are you've heard the two radio songs "Hollywood Whore" and the newer one "Lifeline" (formerly called "Hanging On"), but sandwiched in between them is another killer named "I Almost Told You I Loved You". By the time you'll get to "Had Enough", the choice of "Metamorphosis" as the album's name will make itself evident as Papa Roach has indeed evolved over the years and never more so than on the past two albums.

The band has hit their stride, taking things to another level, settling into a groove where the concept of album is revitalized and reinforced. There's no filler, no crap, no waste of studio time, no waste of our time either, everything is solid and worthy of single release, the definition of an album. This CD harkens back to the days when there was excitement about loading a new release into the player, settling in for awhile, blocking out external distractions, playing some air guitar, grabbing a faux microphone, behaving like you belong in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, acting as if you legitimately earned a performance bonus instead of stealing one like an AIG middle management thief. Swagger. P-Roach has it and effortlessly passes it on to their fans through a dozen songs that remind one of the power and majesty a really good Rock band has when the amps are loud and the songs powerful and legitimate. Bless these guys.

The band will join us immediately following a performance in Columbus, Georgia. There's something inherently cool about a band coming onto ROCKLINE knowing they just kicked 5,000 asses and are reining kings of the world, at least for awhile. Swagger.

Check out their entire itinerary on their official site at www.paparoach.com or www.Myspace.com/PapaRoach and find out when they're headed your way because when they're performing bailout BS disappears, trying to find a decent job takes a back seat to the moment, we've all got health care and we're all gonna get laid that night. OK, enough hyperbole, but the truth is that P-Roach has created a top drawer album, is touring in support of it and has agreed to take your calls and answer the question you've always wished to ask of them. You've heard scientists say that if there ever is an Armageddon or an apocalypse the last thing left alive on the planet will be... well, you know. After this particular metamorphosis Papa Roach might just be the last band standing.

Join us for Papa Roach and an album premiere exclusively on our next ROCKLINE! Monday night starting at 11:30pm on Z102!
